90% of Roman Brand Wallpaper Adhesives and Primers are Low to Zero VOC, as well as LEED compliant. Roman uses sustainable raw materials such as corn starch and wheat to make adhesives. Roman manufactures all water based products, resulting in very low odor, low VOC products, ultimately reducing harmful solvents from be ing released into the atmosphere.

With the green building movement in mind, Roman also offers a two part high permeable wallcovering installation system for new building construction: Mildew GuardTM PRO 550 Permeable Wallcovering Adhesive and Mildew GuardTM PRO 990 Permeable Wallcovering Primer. This system was designed for use with advanced, high permeable wallcoverings. The Mildew GuardTM system allows moisture to pass through, reducing build up of condensation and the potential for mold and mildew growth. This ultimately improves indoor air quality. Mildew GuardTM PRO 990 Permeable Primer can be used on almost any surface but to retain true permeability, it should be used over bare drywall (unless a contractor knows the history of products applied to the wall.)

Roman has a comprehensive line of low VOC primers including ULTRA PRIME®, PRO 977 premium pigmented sealer/primer, R 35® adhesion promoting primer and VINYL PREP®, PRO 909 economical sizer/primer. Not one to rest on their laurels, they have created a new primer/ sealer that is the prescription for porous surfaces. Roman’s new addition to their primer line is Rx 35TM PRO 999 Drywall Repair and Primer.

Rx 35® seals and penetrates damaged drywall. It also seals popcorn ceilings, builder’s flat paint and skim coat/spackling. It is zero VOC, low odor and water based. Roman strives to manufacture products in the “green est” way possible. Roman recycles corrugate and paper, as well as repurposes packing filler in their manufacturing facility. Five gallon plastic pails are made from post consumer waste.
